Sound Healing Meditation

Once a week, in the sheltered atmosphere of the Shala and surrounded by the powerful mountain landscape of South Tyrol, we offer a guided Tibetan singing bowl meditation (also known as Sound Healing Meditation).

Our sound healing expert at Lüsnerhof explains the unique effects of this practice and who benefits most from it.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION FIRST

Is sound bowl therapy suitable for everyone?

“Absolutely. Everyone can benefit from it, and anyone can take part without previous experience,” our expert emphasizes.
This practice is especially valuable for people experiencing high stress levels or those on a personal healing journey.

What exactly is sound bowl therapy?

It is an ancient practice that brings body, mind, and soul into harmony. Through vibration and sound, self-healing abilities are activated, creative energy is released, and the subconscious becomes accessible — allowing positive transformation to unfold.

Yoga and meditation guide Ana-Maria explains:
“Everything in the universe is vibrating energy — and the gentle sounds of Tibetan bowls reach the deepest layers of the soul, aligning us with natural frequencies and dissolving energetic blockages.”

Sound bowl therapy vs. “classic” meditation — what is the difference?

Sound Meditation is a holistic experience. When the bowls are gently struck, they create harmonious tones and vibrations that work all the way down to the cellular level. These deep frequencies stimulate energy channels (Nadis), chakras, blood circulation, lymphatic flow, and the nervous system while releasing physical tension.

Meditation, on the other hand, is a mindful practice that calms the mind, cultivates awareness, and supports inner clarity.
The soothing tones of the singing bowls enhance meditation beautifully, making it easier to enter — and remain in — a deep meditative state.

What makes Tibetan singing bowls so special and effective?

“The sounds of Tibetan bowls act like natural energetic medicine. They support healing from stress, pain, depression, and emotional imbalance. Their vibrations synchronize brainwaves, promoting deep relaxation and expanded awareness,” explains sound healing expert Ana-Maria.

For this reason, only a small number of bowls (about 8 out of 100) are suitable for professional sound healing sessions.
Traditional singing bowls are made of 76% copper, 22% tin, plus elements such as lead, zinc, and iron, refined with small amounts of silver and real gold. Each hand-hammered bowl is a unique piece crafted in the Himalayas — ideal for meditation, chakra healing, and spiritual practice.

Group sessions vs. 1:1 sessions — what is the difference and who are they for?

Ana explains:
“A 1:1 Sound Healing session is deeply personal and tailored. With targeted techniques, I guide the person into a calm state of consciousness in which the Nadis align and the chakras harmonize. I work through all seven chakras individually, connected to each corresponding area of the body.

A group session is a sound meditation that creates space to release everyday stress, arrive in the present moment, and gently dissolve energetic blockages — ideal for both beginners and experienced meditators.”
